  • So Mo played the full 90 minutes again. That's 3 in a row since coming back from Afcon.

Great free kick obviously. He needed that. Hopefully he and Arne have patched things up well enough that they can live with each other till the end of the season.

Well once again squad, and tiredness.. lack of depth kills you, especially if you're unlucky with injurys.. we got fairly lucky last season but still, we looked tired towards the end part.

Probably would have beat PSG if we was more fresh , legs went midfield we lost the battle I reckon, still no no6 to help out and rotate

      • Not really happening for Mo at the minute but as a team we’re scoring plenty. He’s working hard so is still an asset to the team and in many ways it’s good to see others taking over the goal scoring duties

        • Got an assist for Wirtz’s goal that really showed the value of 3 up and Wirtz joining, 3 to play off and Mo always attracts 2 in that sort of area so it creates a bit of space for Wirtz to receive it back and finish as he did

          • Got this one wrong. I thought he'd be gone in January. Looks like he and Slot are now BFF.

He may not have the speed he once had, or be scoring like he used to but he's still extremely valuable to have in the team. He occupies defenders and makes space for Ekitike and Wirtz. I'm glad he's still around, so long as he puts the team first and stays away from the press.

            • Oh lord..

Mo Salah needs no advice from a shill.

              • I think Mo needs to just understand he’s no longer the focal point of our attack but still has a massive role to play in it, like his assist v Newcastle and goal v Carrierbag

Exactly. It's just a case of Mo coming to terms with that. He was the main man for so long but those days are over.

                  • Sundays papers are saying Mo has been offered 400,000 pounds X 3, from some were in the middle east, what do you reckon we would accept as a transfer fee I would think north of 50 million.

For the Summer I take it? With one year left on his deal?

Wouldn't surprise me if we were to take less than that. As well as the fee there is £400,000-per-week to open up wiggle room for paying the wages of new players or topping up contracts of existing lads (Konaté if he stays) which I think we'd take into consideration. That's approaching £21m per year on wages, for one player.

Mo's been absolutely insane for us in terms of output over the years, but I don't think anyone feels that the current version merits £400,000-per-week.

                      • Yep if getting a fee contributes toward the cost of a decent replacement (Diomande) then I’d be all for it.

He’s a legend and will always be remembered as one but we aren’t getting close to £400k a week value for money so if an offer comes in then I’d take it.

                        • £50m? He'll be 34 in the summer. I would bite their hand off.

Same - and it has absolutely nothing to do with the Man City game for me.

That £400k-per-week could be used on two younger £200k-per-week players that are part of our mid-long term future.

Incredibly poor. Has been all season.
